Kihon trainings

This blog and Youtube channel "Bruno, the Karate Prof of the Net" have been there since their creation to help you review at home what you have learned at the club. They also reveal other aspects of Karate. Kihon training is an opportunity to work on techniques, postures and trips alone at the dojo but you can also review them at home and discover new ones through the videos. Since the beginning, I have approached Kihon training in different ways to help both beginners and experienced karatekas. Below you will find eight videos about Kihon. The last five have been the subject of an explanatory article.

  1. When the wise man shows the moon the fool looks at the finger but hey, thank you for considering to stick the wall panel behind you on so many videos, it is a little neglected while your karate is not in the least!

  2. Hello,

Could you propose a video with lots of sequences, announced 2 times, ...
The exercise would be to do without looking and seeing the result..On the grades passes the professors kihon series demands of more than 4 techniques. Stress playing a role on short-term memory this makes things worse.

On the videos of white exams have seen the old ones just crash because it's unusual. Apparently you have to visualize the movement, rather than memorize the sequence of words, which I tend to do.

I notice that you are doing technical knees bent, is it a trend or a peculiarity. Personally, I am convinced that the knees too bent it damages the joints and the old karate was very high (photos of Me Funakoshi). I consider the angle of the knees because the famous Japanese working low are very small with short legs in addition. Of course some do not hurt, but I feel that they are squat profiles, ie with hips and shoulders solidarity.

It would be a video with bodybuilding exercises without musk material. or inexpensive kind kettelbell.Pumps, abdo, etc ...

    • Hello Philippe,

Yes I see the principle of the video you are talking about. Why not, I'll see if I can do that.

Yes it is necessary to visualize the techniques rather than the series of word, it is moreover the council N ° 3 of 7 Tips for Successful Kihon

I do not go down very low because I also find that it is not natural and that it is too traumatic for the knees. So I often work pretty high on my positions.

I'm already doing bodybuilding videos but they are on Karate3G.

      • In the 70 years it was impossible not to practice low, which came from Me Kase and post-war senseis.
Ok thank you for the answer

  3. Hello bruno can we come back every time on guard after each sequence on the khion or should we stay on his technique and start on this one? Thank you

    • Hello,
Everything depends on the work of the moment. In general we stay on the last technique, but for a specific job your teacher may very well ask you to go back on hold each time.
